A Big Announcement, A Video Every Creator Should Watch, and The Value of Creating

Read online / Read time: 4 minutes

Hello friends!

Welcome to 1% Better.

The newsletter where I share my 5 favorite ideas, lessons, and discoveries of the week—no fluff, just the good stuff.

Let's get right into it.

A big announcement from me

Friends, I have some exciting news.

I've started a Substack called "chronically offline" and I'd love for you to join me there.

Why "chronically offline"?

Because it’s a lifestyle I find myself striving toward more and more with each passing year (and yes, the irony of sharing that here isn’t lost on me).

I'll be writing about the choices we make (and don't make) around our screens, the cost of constant connectivity, and what a more textured, present life might actually look like.

These are ideas I've been sitting with for a while, and I wanted a dedicated place to explore them more deeply.

The first issue is live now:

How I broke my phone addiction (after years of failing)

Would mean the world to me if you checked it out and subscribed!

A video every creator should watch - Dan Koe's AI workflow

It's honestly crazy this video is available for free.

If you're not familiar, Dan Koe is one of the most successful creators on the internet.

And he's one of the best people to learn from when it comes to building an online business through content.

This video is basically him breaking down his entire creative process.

• How he built his AI content engine
• How he comes up with newsletter ideas
• How he uses Twitter to test what resonates
• The tools he uses to spot viral ideas early
• His exact AI workflows

This could easily be packaged into a $200 course, but here it is for free.

If you're a creator, or have any desire to be one in the future, do yourself a favor and watch it.

A piece that lit a fire under me

If the Dan Koe video didn't inspire you to become a creator, this probably will.

To be honest, reading this was a big reason that I decided to pull the trigger on starting a Substack this week.

I don't know much for certain, but I do know this:

Life is better when you stop sitting on ideas and start shipping them.

You never know which one will change your life.

A beautiful reminder to keep going

I found this absolutely beautiful—and oddly life-affirming, especially coming from the guy who wrote The Stranger.

Hardest I've laughed in a while

Speaking of life-affirming 😂

Have a great week!

P.S. Reply telling me what resonated most this week!

(I read and respond to them all)

Reader highlight from last week:
For me, it was the 'Ready is a Decision' part. Me and my partner just put in an offer for a house and I found out this morning that our offer got accepted. I feel sick, and I feel like crying, I should be happy, but I'm not ready. This was helpful for me to read as I've been trying to process that things are about to change. 'This too shall pass but holy fuck', is how I'm feeling.

Thanks for always sending the right things to read!
— Jasmine R.

Keep them coming!
